For treating episodes of diarrhea in children

Although we want to protect them from any danger, there are times when we may not be able to. Children lead active lives full of unexpected encounters, playing with other children and exploring the world around them. Their immune systems are still developing. That is why, sometimes, viruses, bacteria, or parasites can enter a child’s gastrointestinal tract and cause episodes of diarrhea of varying severity.

In fact, diarrhea is the body’s natural response as it tries to eliminate “uninvited” germs. Typically, these episodes of diarrhea can last a few days or even a week. Diarrhea is often accompanied by vomiting, nausea, abdominal discomfort, and dehydration. Therefore, the first step should be to rehydrate the body using an oral rehydration solution, rehydration salts, or other methods of slow rehydration, which ensure a supply of sodium, potassium, and nutrients for the child’s body.

Another cause of diarrhea may be the use of certain medications, including antibiotics. To stop diarrhea in this case, it is recommended to support the body’s natural bacterial flora in fighting the germs that have entered the body and to rehydrate using the methods mentioned above.

To maintain a healthy gut microbiome, make sure to provide your child with a diet rich in probiotics and prebiotics. The greater the diversity of probiotics and beneficial bacterial cultures, the healthier the gastrointestinal tract will be, ready to defend itself against infections and viruses in the future.

To prevent diarrhea in children, consult your doctor if they are taking antibiotics and ask for a recommendation for a prebiotic to be taken alongside the prescribed antibiotic. Or choose one that you personally trust. Sanience recommends Cymbio ECOL.

Double the power in the fight against viruses, thanks to the synergistic action of two types of probiotics (lactic acid bacteria and Saccharomyces) and prebiotic fibers.
